Eligibility, Residency and Geographic Disclosures

At Friendme.ca, our mission is to foster a high-quality, intentional community tailored specifically for Canadian residents. To ensure the highest level of trust and local relevance for our members, we prioritize users who are physically located and residing within Canada.

By registering an account or using our services, you acknowledge, understand, and agree to the following terms, conditions, and disclosures:

Dedicated Canadian Focus

Friendme.ca is designed and intended exclusively for use by residents of Canada. While we take proactive measures to maintain a platform localized strictly for Canadians, Friendme.ca cannot guarantee that every active user is physically located within the country or that their self-reported residency is authentic.

Technical Scope and Limitations

Despite our best commercial and technical efforts to verify user locations, it is technologically impossible to completely prevent unauthorized or out-of-country access. Users may attempt to bypass geographic controls using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), proxy servers, or other location-masking technologies. Friendme.ca assumes no liability for technical circumventions of our geographic boundaries. We reserve the right to request proof of Canadian residency or physical location at any time to maintain platform integrity.

Allocation of User Responsibility and Assumption of Risk

Members are solely and completely responsible for their personal interactions and for verifying the authenticity, identity, and actual location of the individuals they choose to connect with. Friendme.ca does not conduct real-time background tracking or daily physical location verification of its users. You explicitly assume all risks associated with connecting with other users, online or offline.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable laws in the Province of Alberta and Canada, Friendme.ca, its affiliates, directors, and employees shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, losses, personal injury, emotional distress, or fraud resulting from your use of the platform, regardless of any user’s true residency status.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These eligibility terms and any disputes arising from your use of the platform shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Alberta to resolve any legal matter.

A Shared Commitment to Authenticity

We do our absolute best to engineer a safe, genuine, and “Made-in-Canada” social ecosystem. However, the ultimate responsibility for personal safety and safe digital interaction lies entirely with the individual user. We strongly encourage all members to exercise caution and follow common-sense safety protocols when communicating online or arranging real-world, face-to-face meetings.
