Friendme.ca Community Standards & Terms of Conduct

At Friendme.ca, we believe that a rich diversity of viewpoints and life experiences enriches our entire community. We are committed to fostering a digital space where free expression flourishes and every individual has a meaningful voice. To ensure a safe, respectful, and legally compliant environment for everyone, all members must adhere to the following standards.

1. Zero Tolerance for Hate, Harassment & Bullying

Abuse has no place on Friendme.ca. In alignment with Canada’s Anti-Hate Laws and the Canadian Human Rights Act, you may not promote violence, incite hatred, or harass individuals or groups based on protected grounds.

Prohibited Conduct

• Violent Threats: Any declaration of intent to inflict bodily harm or death will result in an immediate, permanent account suspension and potential referral to law enforcement under Section 264.1 of the Criminal Code of Canada (Uttering Threats).

• Harmful Tropes & Slurs: The use of dehumanizing language, racist, religious, or sexist tropes, or the targeted “deadnaming” and misgendering of transgender individuals is strictly prohibited.

• Hateful Imagery: You may not display, upload, or share symbols historically associated with hate groups (e.g., Nazi imagery) or any media that depicts individuals as less than human.

• Protected Grounds Covered: Race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, citizenship status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, age, or veteran status.

2. Adult Content, Decency & Sexual Misconduct

To maintain a professional, respectful, and welcoming atmosphere, Friendme.ca strictly prohibits the posting, streaming, or transmitting of adult or sexually explicit content.

Our Standard: If a piece of content is designed to provoke a sexual response rather than foster a genuine, authentic social connection, it does not belong on Friendme.ca.

Explicit Prohibitions

• Explicit Nudity: Any full or partial nudity, including close-up imagery of genitals, buttocks, or breasts. These elements must not appear in profiles, posts, or screen shares.

• Obscene Conduct: The use of offensive gestures or any behavior deemed vulgar, disrespectful, or legally obscene under Section 163 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

• Simulated & Graphic Acts: Any media depicting or simulating sexual acts, whether through live-action footage, performances, or digital representations (including cartoons, anime, or “hentai”).

• Cyber-Flashing & Misconduct: Sending unsolicited sexual images or messages, or objectifying other members, is strictly prohibited and constitutes sexual harassment.

3. Child Safety, Protection & Mandatory Reporting

Friendme.ca is exclusively an adults-only community. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for the endangerment, exploitation, or sexualization of minors.

• Age Requirement & Verification: All members must be at least 18 years of age. To prevent fraud and protect our ecosystem, we utilize age-estimation technology (such as biometric face scans) or government-issued ID checks to confirm eligibility.

• No Minors in Content: Members are strictly prohibited from posting or streaming content featuring individuals under the age of 18, including their own children.

• Exploitation & Grooming: Any visual or illustrated depiction of minors in suggestive contexts, or any grooming behaviors (including engaging minors or seeking illegal materials), will result in immediate termination.

• Mandatory Legal Reporting: In strict compliance with the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act of Alberta, Friendme.ca will immediately report any suspected child abuse, neglect, or exploitation to law enforcement and the appropriate provincial authorities.

4. Personal Privacy, Consent & Data Security

For a platform built on intentional human connection, privacy is a fundamental covenant. We operate in strict compliance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

• Voice and Image Consent: You may only post or stream another person’s voice, likeness, or image if you have received their explicit, verifiable permission.

• Non-Consensual Sharing of Intimate Images: Distributing, threatening to distribute, or publishing intimate images or videos of another person without their consent is a serious criminal offense under Section 162.1 of the Criminal Code of Canada (Protecting Canadians from Online Crime Act) and will be prosecuted fully.

• Doxing and Private Data: We strictly prohibit publishing a peer’s private information—including home addresses, personal phone numbers, workplaces, or financial details—or encouraging others to compromise a member’s privacy.

5. Safety, Wellbeing & Graphic Content Standards

Your physical and emotional wellbeing is our highest priority. We do not permit content that creates a credible risk of real-world harm.

Health and Wellbeing

• Self-Harm & Eating Disorders: Content that promotes, instructs, or glamorizes self-harm, suicide, or disordered eating is strictly prohibited.

• Dangerous Activities: Participation in or promotion of dangerous “dares,” high-risk stunts, or viral games that bypass common-sense safety is banned.

• Mindful Presence (Distracted Driving): To protect our users and the public, streaming or broadcasting while operating any vehicle (including cars, motorcycles, or bicycles) is strictly prohibited.

Graphic & Distressing Content

• Distressing Scenes: Graphic depictions of crime scenes, severe physical altercations, or serious accidents.

• Medical Details: Gratuitous displays of exposed internal organs, bones, bodily fluids, or invasive surgical procedures outside of a strictly clinical, authorized educational context.

• Animal Welfare: Any content depicting the torture, killing, neglect, or severe injury of animals is prohibited and will be reported under federal and provincial animal cruelty laws.

6. Legal Integrity, Weapons & Regulated Substances

Friendme.ca enforces strict boundaries regarding legally regulated goods and criminal activities.

• Controlled & Regulated Substances: The promotion, sale, distribution, or facilitation of illicit drugs, prescription medications, marijuana/cannabis products, or drug-related paraphernalia is strictly prohibited on this platform.

• Weapons & Explosives: The display, promotion, or sale of weapons—including firearms, ammunition, and explosives—is banned. This includes instructional content on how to manufacture weapons, such as 3D-printed firearms or explosive devices.

• Financial Integrity: The unauthorized promotion of financial instruments, high-risk financial services, cryptocurrency schemes, gambling, multi-level marketing (MLM), pyramid schemes, or the sale of counterfeit goods is strictly prohibited.

• Human Trafficking: Any content related to human trafficking, modern slavery, or the solicitation of prohibited sexual services will be instantly removed and referred to federal authorities.

7. Intellectual Property & Originality

We celebrate original thought and creative expression. Members must respect the intellectual and personal property rights of others.

• Ownership Rights: You may only post or stream content that you legally own, have created, or have explicit licensed permission from the rightful owner to share.

• Infringement: Content that infringes upon the patents, trademarks, copyrights, or trade secrets of any individual or organization will be removed upon receipt of a valid infringement notice.

To ensure a reliable, authentic, and secure experience, automated or deceptive use of the platform is barred.

• Manual Interaction Only: Account registration, profile creation, and content posting must be performed directly by a human. Any automatic, systematic, or programmatic creation of accounts (via bots, scripts, or scrapers) is strictly prohibited.

• Malicious Software: You are prohibited from uploading or transmitting software viruses, malware, ransomware, or any other harmful computer code designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of Friendme.ca.

• Scraping & Data Mining: The use of automated data gathering, extraction tools, robots, or scraping mechanisms on Friendme.ca is a direct violation of our terms.

• Authentic Identity: You may not impersonate any individual, group, or organization, nor create accounts with the intent to mislead, confuse, or deceive others. Misrepresenting an official affiliation with Friendme.ca will result in immediate banishment.

9. Criminal Background Screening & Personal Responsibility

Transparency is a core value of the Friendme.ca community.

• General Policy: Friendme.ca does not conduct mandatory criminal background checks or screen members against sex offender registries as a condition of standard membership.

• Discretionary Screening: While we do not perform universal criminal checks, any background verification or specialized screening performed—to the extent permitted by the Alberta Human Rights Act and Canadian privacy laws—will be explicitly outlined in our full Terms and Conditions.

• Exercise Personal Judgment: Because background checks are not universally mandated, Friendme.ca strongly encourages all members to prioritize personal safety and exercise cautious judgment when transitioning digital friendships or dating connections into real-world, face-to-face meetings.

Our moderation team reviews all flagged reports diligently to ensure Friendme.ca remains a premier, professional, and secure “Slow Tech” haven for all Canadians.
